Republic of Moldova
Research4Life partnered with Nicolae Testemitanu University to the lead the Country Connector work in the Republic of Moldova. Two staff have been appointed from the library as the lead implementers and Country Connectors for the Republic of Moldova.
Moldova shows strong potential to advance within Research4Life’s framework, supported by an active ambassador network. In 2024, a strategic meeting set the stage for expanded outreach, with ambassadors chosen for their subject-specific expertise to effectively enhance access and support.
Ukraine
In July 2023, an agreement was signed between Research4Life and the State Scientific and Technical Library of Ukraine for it to become a Research4Life Country Connector Associate. Associate status is for those countries who are currently doing well in the main six outcomes of the Country Connector project, and who want to be part of the project network without requiring Country Connectors financial support.
Despite ongoing conflict, Research4Life activities continue to expand in Ukraine, with plans to collaborate with the National Academy of Sciences and local publishers. A partnership with the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) is set to support open access and research visibility in Ukraine throughout 2025.
