Since last month, libraries and institutions in Lebanon can register for Research4Life to get low-cost access to leading journals, books and databases from authoritative and international academic publishers.

Word cloud of subjects covered in Research4Life

Research4Life covers nearly every research discipline. There is a particular focus on health, agriculture, environment, law, social sciences. These resources are indispensable for academic research, to develop educational materials or to inform policy decisions.

Research4Life provides a central discovery service for all of the content on offer in Lebanon, which includes up to 11,000 peer-reviewed journals (subscription and open access) and up to 50,000 books. The service integrates with publishers’ own platforms.

Health professionals will also find reliable medical information. The most important medical journals and databases from Elsevier, Digital Science, CABI, EBSCO and other publishers can be accessed via Hinari, one of Research4Life’s five programs. These journals can be searched through a special version of PubMed (Medline) and through other article indexes.

Research4Life offers training to its users via regular webinars. Several times a year, a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) introduces Research4Life users to all aspects of Research4Life so they can discover the wealth of information at their fingertips.
