The interview was held during the 65th Session of the WHO Regional Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean, hosted by the Government of Sudan. This 4-day event gathered high-level representatives, partner and civil society organizations from countries and territories of WHO’s Eastern Mediterranean Region to discuss key public health issues towards advancing universal health coverage (UHC).

The Hinari Programme (part of the Research4Life partnership) is managed by WHO together with major publishers. It enables low- and middle- income countries to access one of the world’s largest collections of biomedical and health literature. Up to 14,900 journals, up to 60,000 e-books, up to 105 other information resources are now available to health institutions in more than 115 countries, areas and territories benefiting many thousands of health workers and researchers, and in turn, contributing to improve world health.
