The fourth edition of the Research4Life Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) is starting on 5 October and there is still time to sign up! Have you always wanted to learn more about how to use Research4Life? Users can register before 28 September to join our free, five-week course.

  • Deep-dive into the landscape of scholarly communications.
  • Discover scholarly literature and how you can use it.
  • Get tips on searching relevant resources for your discipline.
  • Learn how to successfully market your library within your institution and region.

The topics covered in the course include the scholarly communication landscape, information literacy skills and advocacy and capacity development strategies. Additionally, the course provides information tailored to Hinari, AGORA, OARE, ARDI and GOALI users. After completing the course, participants will receive a certificate of attendance or achievement.

This MOOC is the second Research4Life MOOC organised with the UN Technology Bank for Least Developed Countries, and there is a special focus on users from the world’s 47 least developed countries (LDCs), in which the knowledge gap is the largest. In the last edition, we received over 1,500 participants from 75 countries. Over half of the participants came from one of the LDCs.

Before registering for the course, check if you have a login to Research4Life. If you are not sure, talk to your librarian or contact the Research4Life helpdesk. If you don’t have access, your institution might qualify for access!

Please also note that applicants from the Least Developed Countries (LDCs) from Research4Life eligible institutions will be prioritised. Those from eligible institutions in other countries will be admitted if there is space available.
